High school teacher charged with child luring

TORONTO, Ont. – Police have laid new charges against a teacher from Forest Hill Collegiate, already charged with sexual assault, following an additional victim coming forward.

Christopher Parkin, 40, already under arrest for incidents which allegedly took place in April and back in 2011, is now charged with luring a child, invitation to sexual touching and sexual interference.

Police say the female victim, a student, came forward following Parkin’s initial arrest, alleging the incidents took place during the 2012 school year.

Thestar.com reports provincial records show Parkin has been a registered teacher in Ontario since 1997. He has been teaching gym at Forest Hill Collegiate, and has also earned qualifications to teach students with learning disabilities.

Parkin made a court appearance to face the new charges Monday morning.
